Our History + Space

Located in the historic Boyle Heights community of Los Angeles, Brooklyn Ave Pizza Co. sits beneath one of Los Angeles’ longest-running music and events venue, The Paramount LA. Operating for nearly a century, it still serves as a creative outlet for burgeoning and prominent artists.

The building has been home to the Jewish Bakers Union of LA during the early 20th century, and Boyle Heights Community Kitchen. The restaurant’s name is inspired by its location in BH along Cesar E Chavez Avenue (formerly known as Brooklyn Avenue).

The Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory

The Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory, a non-profit that advocates for the development of a new framework toward diversity in the creative arts, media, and technology fields—one that is socially and economically inclusive, and accurately reflects the City of Los Angeles in terms of ethnicity, gender, and age.

“The most effect way to do this, we understand, is by dismantling the many barriers to equal opportunities in the arts and creative industries, so that they, as well as those interested in pursuing such careers therein, can truly grow and thrive.”

The Paramount LA & Brooklyn Ave. Pizza Co. works closely with its neighbors by offering students the opportunity to staff music events and work directly with featured artists.
